Brooke – Trip to Disney
I was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia the day I was supposed to drive down to begin my sophomore year at Marshall University. I had the perfect job, perfect living situation, perfect classes until a sick visit at my pediatrician lead me being sent to the hospital for 29 days. I have completed induction and I am almost done with the intensification phase of treatment. After this, I will start maintenance and will start adjusting back to my new normal. I now want to be an oncology nurse and I will be enrolling at Rhode Island College this fall.
I would love to go to Hawaii and be able to relax on the beach. I love traveling and I believe having something to look forward to makes the difficult days a little easier. I am so grateful to have found the Nikolas Ritschel Foundation. There is a lack of resources available for young adults and it can be very discouraging. Thank you for everything that you do!
