I still cannot believe it. After graduating from Stockton University in 2017 with a degree in Criminal Justice, I was accepted into the Ocean County Police Academy. I began working as a part time Class 2 officer for Seaside Heights. I began to have headaches, swollen glands, low grade fevers and fatigue. I came home, removed my gun belt, and was shocked to be covered in bruises. 10 days after being sworn in as police officer I was told I had cancer. Throughout this journey, I have to say that my family has stuck by my side. Especially my dad. He slept in the hospital bed, tapes up my port for showers, even held me up in the shower and gives me those horrible shots I need. I wish I could take a trip with my family to a beach and catch a fish, and perhaps a wave.
